COSHOCTON − This year’s Fourth of July celebrations will be bigger and better in many communities as they celebrate the 250th anniversary (semiquincentennial) of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Here’s a look at some area July 4th celebrations and fireworks.
Thunder Over Holmes County is June 27
Thunder Over Holmes County is an Independence Day celebration held in Downtown Millersburg. It will be June 27, with fireworks occurring about 9:45 p.m. It will feature inflatables, touch-a-truck, children’s game and food trucks. Admission is free.
Coshocton to celebrate on July 3
The Coshocton Community Band will perform at 7 p.m. July 3 at the Coshocton Court Square. Fireworks by the Coshocton County Agricultural Society will begin at 10 p.m. at the fairgrounds and last about 18 minutes. There will be food trucks and other activities available.
Stars and Stripes in Zanesville July 3-4
The Zanesville Jaycees will host Stars & Stripes on the River July 3-4, at Zane’s Landing Park. The two-day event includes live music, carnival rides, and more than a dozen local food vendors, culminating in a fireworks display at dusk near the Y Bridge on July 4.
Room-A-Rama in Cambridge July 4
Cambridge will host its annual Boom‑A‑Rama event in the city park on July 4. The American Legion’s baseball tournament will start the day with the first games scheduled around 10:30 a.m. A pool party at the Cambridge City Pool will run from 6-10 p.m., and a free concert by the city band will start at 7 p.m. Food trucks and vendors will be set up throughout the day. The Boom-A-Rama fireworks will start at dusk.
New Concord celebration is July 11
New Concord’s celebration on July 11 starts at 11 a.m. with free tours of the John & Annie Glenn Museum. The Westminster Presbyterian, College Drive Presbyterian and New Concord United Methodist churches will hold a community at 4 p.m. at the village park. Bingo starts at 5 p.m. at village hall, Sweet Adelines and the Friendship 7 Chorus will perform at 7 p.m. and the Muskingum valley Symphonic Winds at 8. A firework show will start at dusk. The village will also be having a free swim day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
