CARROLLTON – One person was taken to the hospital with burn injuries after a structure fire on Jan. 5.
The Carrollton Fire Department responded just before 10 p.m. to 2029 Amsterdam Road SW after a resident reported the fire.
Chief Shane Thomas said one resident with burn injuries, which were described as not life-threatening, was taken to the Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital and then transported to an Akron hospital. The cause of the fire remained under investigation on Jan. 6.
Thomas said the “building would be a total loss.”
County property records show that the 6.36-acre property, which has a single-story dwelling attached to a barn, sold for $160,000 on Dec. 23.
