One person is dead, and another person is in critical condition following a two-vehicle crash in Prairie Township, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
Just after 3:30 p.m. Aug. 6, a Cadillac ATS car traveling northbound collided with a Toyota Venza SUV traveling southbound in the middle of the roadway in the 6300 block of Alkire Road, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Both vehicles had only one occupant. Medics with the Prairie Township Fire Department transported the driver of the Toyota in critical condition to OhioHealth Doctors Hospital, where they were pronounced dead just before 4:30 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office.
The driver of the Cadillac was transported in critical condition to OhioHealth Riverside Hospital, the sheriff’s office said.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Crash Unit said they do not know which vehicle crossed the center lane and collided with the other vehicle. Alkire Road remained closed for several hours before opening back up sometime after 6:30 p.m.
Anyone with knowledge of the collision is asked to contact the county Sheriff’s Crash Investigation Unit at 614-525-6113.
