Ohio State football to play Texas in primetime 2026 matchup

In four months, Ohio State football will head to the Lone Star State for a game under the Saturday night lights.

The Buckeyes will face Texas in a 7:30 p.m. game Sept. 12, according to a release. The game will be broadcast on ABC. ESPN “College Gameday” will also be in attendance and broadcast from Austin, Texas.

Last year, No. 3 Ohio State hosted No. 1 Texas at Ohio Stadium and won 14-7. Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin threw for 126 yards and a touchdown in his debut, while Texas quarterback Arch Manning threw for 170 yards and a touchdown with one interception.

Ohio State ranks No. 1 on USA Today’s way-too-early top 25 college football list, while Texas ranks third.
