Ohio State has some competition for the best all-black jerseys in college football.
After the Buckeyes announced updated versions of their “Tunnel Vision” all-black jerseys would return in 2026, the University of Cincinnati football team posted a photo of their own black jerseys on May 12, which are worn at a majority of the Bearcats’ home games.
“The best black uniform in football,” read the post caption on X.
An hour later, the Ohio State football account posted a tweet of the new black jerseys, with a similar caption as the Cincinnati post.
“THE best black uniform in college football,” the Buckeyes’ caption read, with “THE” capitalized for “The” Ohio State University.
The primary colors of Cincinnati are red, black, and white, with black jerseys a staple of their year-to-year closet.
After introducing the “Tunnel Vision” jerseys back in 2015, the Buckeyes last wore the all-black jerseys in a 2022 victory over Wisconsin.
Oklahoma State also got in on the online banter, posting a photo of their black jerseys.
“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery,” said the caption, replying to the Bearcats football post.
