Ohio State basketball star makes the Reese's 2026 All-Star roster

Ohio State basketball senior guard Bruce Thornton has been selected to play in the Reese’s Division I College All-Star Game, a fitting reward for a career that has put him among the most accomplished guards in program history. The annual showcase features top senior talent from across NCAA Division I and is played during Final Four weekend at Lucas Oil Stadium as part of Reese’s Final Four Friday.

Thornton’s selection comes after a standout senior season in which he averaged a career-high 19.9 points per game while also contributing 5.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. He shot a career-best 55.4 percent from the field and finished the regular season with 677 points, the ninth-most in a single season in Ohio State history. He also led the Big Ten with 148 assists and posted a 3.15 assist-to-turnover ratio, ranking among the nation’s best.

His senior year capped a remarkable four-season run in Columbus. Thornton finished as Ohio State’s all-time leading scorer with 2,096 career points, passing Dennis Hopson, and became the first four-time captain in school history. He improved steadily each season, developing from a dependable young guard into the Buckeyes’ centerpiece and a consistent leader on and off the floor.

The all-star game is set for Friday, April 3, at Lucas Oil Stadium and will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network, with admission free to fans attending Final Four Friday events.
