High school football Week 9 live updates

Covington Catholic sends Harrison County fans to bed early with a 56-0 win

The Colonels never gave Harrison County a chance, jumping out to an early 35-0 lead to get the clock running. Time flies when you’re having fun, and CovCath certainly had fun in their romp tonight.

Holy Cross scores early and often against Trimble County, winning 58-0

The Indians took a 39-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, and the clock ran out on Trimble County’s hopes of getting on the board. Holy Cross’s undefeated season continues, now 8-0 in their best season in program history.

Newport blanks Bellevue, wins 6-0

On the Wildcats’ first offensive play of the game, Newport’s Carvonta Roper caught a short pass and ran it all the way in for the score, putting Newport up 6-0. That would prove to be the only score of the entire contest, as the Wildcats shut out the Tigers and claimed a 6-0 win.

NewCath thundering past Dayton

The Thoroughbreds came out of the gate with tremendous speed, racing out to a 28-0 lead with over nine minutes left in the first quarter.

Simon Kenton and Campbell County trading blows

The Camels went up first, but the Pioneers responded with a field goal and 65-yard touchdown drive to take a 10-7 lead. Simon Kenton would strike again with just 38 seconds left in the half, a 15-yard touchdown pass from Grant Webb to Forest Hughes and it looked like the 17-7 lead would hold until halftime. Campbell County had other ideas, as Xander Guy hit Cade Anthrop for a lightning-fast 43-yard score. Out of the halftime break, the Camels scored to retake the lead off of a Xander Guy 29-yard touchdown to Gavin Richardson. The Pioneers would score on the first play of the fourth quarter to flip the lead once again, 24-21.
