No. 1 offensive tackle has high praise for Ohio State after official visit

It was a massive recruiting weekend for the Ohio State football team. The first official visits began this past weekend, and the Buckeyes rolled out the red carpet for several high-profile prospects. Ryan Day has made it no secret that he wants to do a better job of solidifying the offensive line after injuries forced the team to piecemeal a line for a championship run in 2024.

Enter Felix Ojo. The No. 1-rated offensive tackle in the 2026 recruiting cycle is the highest priority on the Ohio State wish list. Ojo took his official visit to Columbus this past weekend, and by all accounts, it went very well. On3 caught up with the 6-foot-6 mountain of a man to hear how things went. “The family atmosphere and how the program is deeply centered in faith. Also, the offensive scheme fits and resembles my play style a lot. Overall, it was a great visit.”

It sounds like the Buckeyes are checking all the boxes. However, Ohio State is locked in a battle with the likes of Florida, Oklahoma, and Ojo’s home state team, Texas. The Longhorns have long been favored to land Ojo’s services, and even have a crystal ball prediction in favor of Burnt Orange. But Ojo himself has been very open about doing his homework and finding the best fit for him.

After missing out on five-star tackle Jackson Cantwell, the Buckeyes are pushing hard to secure a commitment from Ojo. Landing the Texas native would be another huge win for new offensive line coach Tyler Bowen.
