Newest Greater Cincinnati Wawa set to open Thursday

The fast-growing Wawa convenience store chain opens its 12th Greater Cincinnati site on May 14.

Located at 7481 Montgomery Road, in the village of Silverton, the store sits at the corner of Montgomery and Stewart roads.

As with its 1,200-plus stores across the country, Wawa will stage a grand opening event with T-shirt and coffee giveaways. Those start at 8 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting event at 8:30 a.m.

Customer hoping for 3XL T-shirt

The newest store has triggered considerable social media chatter. Some has focused on traffic, given the growth of The Residence at AG47 apartment complex across the street. It is currently adding about 120 units to the 200 it built in 2019.

But the chain has plenty of fans excited about Wawa’s sub sandwiches, fruit smoothies and, since May 4, Snack & Go Tacos. Some are eager to be one of Silverton’s first 100 customers, each of whom gets a T-shirt.

“Will there be some 3XL shirts for those that have ate one to (sic) many meatball subs?” one Facebook fan wrote. “Asking for a friend.”

New store will operate 24/7

The new Wawa, like most locations, will be open seven days a week, 24 hours a day. General manager Dawn Keyek heads a staff of 35.

Wawa arrived in Greater Cincinnati about a year ago, opening its first store in Liberty Township in April 2025. The chain plans 60 stores for Ohio, opening five to eight a year, according to a company press release.
