The family of a Northern Kentucky University student thanked supporters after they were found dead Sunday.
The body of Murry Foust, 22, was found May 24 by an independently organized search party, according to the Wilder Police Department. Foust, who was set to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts May 9, went missing April 27. They were last seen in the Latonia neighborhood of Covington.
Foust’s body was found at Newport Steel at 1 Steel Plant Road in Wilder, according to the Campbell County Coroner’s Office.
Friends, relatives and supporters had been searching for Foust for weeks. Jennifer Heise Foust posted a message from the family in a Facebook page dedicated to Foust on May 25.
“Thank you to everyone in the community who has supported our family through this difficult time,” she wrote. “While our hearts are broken and this is not the outcome we were hoping for, we can only pray that finding them provides closure and comfort to everyone who is hurting.”
Jennifer Heise Foust said the family is establishing an art scholarship fund in Murry Foust’s name. They were an artist.
No cause of death ruled yet by coroner
The Campbell County Coroner’s Office had not yet ruled an official cause or manner of death at the time of publication of this story.
There are currently no indications of foul play, according to Wilder police.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the Foust family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time,” the Wilder Police Department said in a post on social media. “While we are saddened by this loss, we hope this development can provide the family with some answers and a measure of closure.”
Foust was set to graduate from NKU on May 9. Instead, students and staff observed a moment of silence for them at the graduation ceremony.
