A free concert by Pittsburgh-based Bealtaine will be on the Municipal Park stage from 7 to 9 p.m. June 28.
Bealtaine plays Irish, Scottish and Canadian Maritime folk, contemporary, and traditional tunes along with working-class anthems. Band members play such instruments as guitar, bouzouki, Uillean pipes, accordion, whistle, harmonica and bodhran.
The Sandy Springs Brewing Co. beer truck will be on hand.
Wildlife Rescue, a Stark Parks program, will be in Minerva’s Municipal Park at 10:30 a.m. June 26. Lunch with Minerva Schools Resource Officer Tony Albertoni will follow the event.
Stark Parks officials will bring live animal ambassadors that cannot be released into the wild due to their injuries. The program will include stories about the animals, and attendees can learn what to do if they find an injured wild animal.
The program is free and will last about an hour. No dogs are welcome at the event, as they frighten the ambassador animals.
Families are invited to bring packed lunches and attend a lunch with Officer Tony following the program.
Attendees should bring chairs or blankets. Municipal Park is on Second Street, adjacent to Minerva High School, 501 Almeda Ave.
