MASSILLON – National Night Out will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 4 at Community Park, 2200 Finefrock Road SW.
The free event is designed to strengthen community ties, build trust between residents and law enforcement, and increase awareness around public safety and crime prevention, according to a news release.
It is hosted by the Massillon Police Department, Stark County Sheriff’s Office, and Stark County Safe Communities.
The event will feature safety information, interactive displays and a chance to meet local law enforcement, firefighters and safety personnel in a relaxed environment. Highlights of the evening include free food, K-9 demonstrations, Stark County Mounted Unit, appearances by local first responders and community organizations sharing resources and services.
“National Night Out allows officers to connect with the community they serve in a fun and meaningful way. It is a unique yearly event that specifically focuses on the relationship first responders have with those they serve. It’s always a great experience,” said Massillon Police Chief Jason Saintenoy.
