Marion Harding boys basketball 1967 to 1971 reunion set for May 16

Marion Harding boys basketball players and coaches from 1967 to 1971 are holding a reunion, but anyone from the late 1960s into the early 1970s will be welcome.

The event will be Saturday, May 16 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Marion Country Club. Those who would like to participate should contact Terry Conley via email at tac6970@yahoo.com or via text/call at 740-262-8135.

The 1968-69 squad won five tournament games and played for a Class AA district championship at Bowling Green State University, finishing the season with a 19-5 record. The Presidents were Buckeye Conference runners-up behind Sandusky at 11-3.

Future Ohio State guard Dave Merchant averaged 28.3 points and went for 30 or more points nine times that season, including a 46-point effort against Shelby in the sectional opener.
