A Licking County man died after a tree he was trying to cut down with a neighbor fell on him.
The Licking County Sheriff’s office said 74-year-old Danny Lane died shortly after 9 a.m. on June 30.

Lane and a neighbor were trying to cut down a tree on the 700 block of Refugee Road when Lane became trapped under the fallen tree trunk, the sheriff’s office said. Multiple fire departments and the sheriff’s office responded to the scene, but Lane succumbed to his injuries.
There is no suspicion of foul play.
