Columbus’ Weinland Park neighborhood will welcome a new bar at 7 p.m. Aug. 14 with the opening of Let Me Roll It. The bar is located at 132 E. 5th Ave., just north of Italian Village, in the space previously occupied by MIA Hookah Café.
Conor Stratton, who is a co-owner of the Ace of Cups music venue in the Old North neighborhood, is opening the bar with partner Sarah Fleming, who brings a background in interior design to the project. Stratton is a music lover and said he named the business for a Paul McCartney song released in the early 1970s.
The name sets the tone for the establishment.
“The vibe we were going for, it’s heavily leaning into the ’70s,” Stratton said. “We’re largely doing brands that would have been around in that vintage era.”

That includes beers like Little Kings, Guinness and Miller Lite and High Life, as well as some more contemporary “Columbus nods” from Columbus Brewing Co. and Seventh Son Brewing Co. All beer will be served in cans and bottles.
Stratton said the bar also will serve its own takes on classic cocktails including the martini, negroni, margarita and daiquiri. (You’ll find an espresso martini on the menu as well.) Affordability was top of mind when planning the cocktail menu. Accordingly, specialty cocktails will be priced at $13, with others on the menu costing $12 or less.
“I really wanted to avoid the trend of $15 and higher cocktails,” he said.
Wine, available by the glass and by the bottle, rounds out the offerings. Food will not be served, at least initially.
Stratton said he and Fleming have put significant work into the build-out. “My dad and I refinished the floors, I laid all the new tile, I built the bar with Sarah,” he said.
Once open, Let Me Roll It’s regular hours will be 5 p.m. to midnight Tuesdays-Fridays and 1 p.m. to midnight Saturdays.
