Cedar Point is adding a new haunt to its HalloWeekends linup.
The Six Flags park is partnering with a video game company to offer the DIABLO: The Infernal Path at its Halloween-themed festivities.
Like the game, park guests will navigate paths in Sanctuary and encounter characters including the Butcher, Duriel, Baal, Mephisto, Lilith and Diablo.
The attraction is being billed as blurring “the line between game and reality.”
It will replace the Blood Bath indoor haunt by the entrance to the Steel Vengeance roller coaster.
“For 30 years, Diablo has challenged players to descend into the darkness and face the horrors that haunt Sanctuary,” said Gavian Whishaw, vice president and executive producer of Diablo IV, in a statement. “Celebrating that milestone by bringing Sanctuary to life at Six Flags feels like a fitting way to mark our anniversary. Whether you’re coming face-to-face with The Butcher or descending deeper into the realms of darkness, this is a chance to experience the world of Diablo in a way that’s never been possible before.”
Like last season, park guests will have to purchase a separate Haunted Attractions Pass to enter the maze.
“DIABLO: The Infernal Path delivers an unprecedented opportunity for guests to experience the world of Diablo in a completely new way,” said Kelly Daugherty, Six Flags’ director of entertainment in a statement. “The attraction combines the franchise’s legendary demons, dark mythology and intense atmosphere with the immersive scares our guests expect during HalloWeekends.”
The haunt will also make its debut at Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia.
Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo universe first debuted in 1996.
This is not the first time the Sandusky amusement park has offered a licensed haunted attraction.
Last fall the park is collaborated with the producers of “The Conjuring” movie series offer a haunt that required a timed ticket.
Cedar Point has not yet released its full haunt and entertainment for this fall’s Halloweekends.
The park’s fall festivities are set to start Sept. 17 and run through Nov. 1.
