The Washington Township Fire Department sought mutual aide from area firefighters May 3 to battle a 3-alarm apartment fire in Dublin.
At about 1:10 pm, a fire was reported at the apartment complex on Asherbrand Lane. Firefighters found heavy fire in the attic when they arrived, said Washington Township Fire Chief John Donahue
Donahue told media that the fire at the two-story, 16-unit building was contained and the majority of the fire was out when speaking with media about two hours later.
No injuries were reported and everyone was evacuated safely. The building was heavily damaged by the fire.
The Red Cross is working to provide emergency housing for the affected tenants.
Columbus firefighters were initially dispatched to nearby Armistead Lane at 1:43 p.m., according to Pulsepoint.
The building is near Brand and Coffman roads northwest of Interstate 270.
The Concord Township and Norwich Township fire departments also were at the scene.
