BYESVILLE − The name of a Lancaster man who died after he was shocked by electricity and fell off a ladder at Meadowbrook High School has been revealed as investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The Daily Jeffersonian learned through a public records request that the man was Dylan Warga, 27, of Lancaster.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred on Arpil 11 while Warga was working on a renovation project at Meadowbrook High School. He later died at OhioHealth Southeastern Medical Center.
According to his obituary, Warga was a 2017 graduate of Amanda Clearcreek High School and worked as a journeyman electrician for Settle Muter Electric of Columbus the past six years.
The Ohio Occupational Safety and Health Administration said its investigation into the incident is ongoing and could take up to six months to complete. It would not give additional information until the investigation is completed, but updates could be found online at its establishment search page, where Settle Muter is listed as the involved business.
Summit Construction of Plain City is the construction manager for the $43.8 million project, which includes renovations and additions to Meadowbrook High School. The new structure will house an estimated 1,500 students from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade and a career tech program, according to Summit’s website.
A statement from Summit Construction to the Daily Jeffersonian read, “Our prayers are with everyone involved and we are fully cooperating with the authorities conducting this investigation.”
