If you get your Starbucks fix at some central Ohio Kroger locations, you will need to find a new spot.
Four Starbucks locations in Dublin and Columbus recently shuttered in their respective Kroger stores after the popular coffee chain closed hundreds of United States locations in 2025.
A Kroger spokesperson told The Dispatch in an email that the closures are “part of a decision to run more efficiently and ensure the long-term health of our business.”
As of September 2025, over 400 Starbucks locations had closed as part of the coffee chain’s “Back to Starbucks” strategy, implemented as Americans are tightening their budgets amid the growing cost of, well, everything. It was not clear if the Kroger location closures are a part of that plan.

The spokesperson did not offer details on what the former Starbucks spaces would be used for.

At the High Street store, the space previously used for the Starbucks appeared to be under construction.
The closures aren’t a sign that Kroger and Starbucks are breaking up. The grocery chain included a Starbucks location in its new Powell store that opened in 2025.
In March, Kroger announced that it would invest $112 million into central Ohio, including the construction of two new stores in Canal Winchester and Delaware County, one of the fastest growing counties in the state.
Kroger recently celebrated the grand reopening of its Gahanna, Pataskala and Reynoldsburg locations after nearly $5 million in combined renovations.
