LANSING — State highway officials will hold a June 4 public meeting in Lansing on the planned rebuild of U.S. 127 between Interstate 496 and Lake Lansing Road in 2027 and 2028.
The “open house” event will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Allen Neighborhood Center on East Kalamazoo Street, between Allen and Shepard streets, the Michigan Department of Transportation said in a May 29 news release.
MDOT’s makeover of the U.S. 127 corridor in the Lansing area has been ongoing for years.
This year, the agency is improving the section between Interstate 69 and Lake Lansing Road, and all traffic is now shifted to the southbound side of the freeway. In 2024 and 2025, crews rebuilt the section between Interstates 96 and 496. A section of freeway in southern Ingham County was repaved before that.
The work over the upcoming two years will include new pavement, bridge improvements and upgraded drainage and signage, MDOT said.
Information on the corridor improvement projects is available here.
