Knox Twp. Festival set July 19 with baby contest, music, semi pride show

Homeworth Community Group plans its annual Knox Township Festival from noon to 10 p.m. July 19 at North Georgetown Community Pavilion at 4081 Rochester Road at North Georgetown Fire Department.

An opening ceremony is at noon July 19, with the George D. Worth Color Guard of North Georgetown Post 574. Steven Schreckengost will play the national anthem on guitar, and Pam Miller will lead a prayer.

The festival will include the 1st Semi Pride and Polish Show from noon to 3 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded for newest semi, oldest semi and People’s Choice. To enter, contact Lindsey Rose 330-428-0096 or Angela Barnhouse at 330-771-7184.

The Pedal Tractor Pull will begin at 5 p.m.

The Baby Contest starts at 3 p.m. in front of the Band Stage. Those who registered must check in by 2:45 p.m. Deadline to enter online has been extended to July 18 on the Knox Township Festival event page on Facebook.  Prizes will be awarded for girls and boys in age groups of 6 to 12 months; 12 to 18 months; 18 to 24 months; and 24 to 30 months. Call Amy Nezbeth Wallace to register at 330-257-4803.

Bounce houses will be available all day along with the Ruritan Club’s Dunk Tank. Special guests will be waiting for you to hit the bullseye and drop them into the water.

The event will include a gun raffle with 1,000 tickets sold at the ticket table. Drawing will not take place until all tickets are sold. 

Live music from In Like Flinn will be 6 to 10 p.m. Bring a lawn chair or sit on available seating.
