Joe Burrow does 11-on-11 work at Bengals' practice; Joe Flacco not throwing

Cincinnati Bengals starting quarterback Joe Burrow participated in 11-on-11 work for the first time since returning to practice for the team.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor announced that quarterback Joe Flacco, who is expected to start the team’s Week 12 game against the New England Patriots at Paycor Stadium, isn’t practicing Nov. 19, but will throw during practice Nov. 20.

Taylor said Flacco would be on “the same schedule we’ve been on the last couple of weeks” ahead of the game Sunday.

“You can certainly get a lot of work in with Joe Burrow today, because Flacco’s not practicing,” Taylor said. “Because the plan has been to get (Burrow) to 11-on-11. So it works well, to where you’re not trying to balance a guy who’s gonna practice on a Wednesday. Joe Flacco hasn’t done that. … So we’ll get through today. Get Joe (Burrow) started on 11-on-11, see how it goes.”

Taylor joked about the challenge of talking about two quarterbacks named Joe.

“We’ve got to think of another way to communicate this, because the two Joes, that’s just getting harder and harder every week that passes,” Taylor joked.

Taylor was asked when Burrow might return.

“Joe Burrow hasn’t practiced 11-on-11 yet,” Taylor said. “Until we get through some practices, there’s no reason for me to speculate on that.”

The Bengals announced Nov. 10 that they started a 21-day period during which Burrow may begin limited practice with the team without counting against the 53-player active roster.
