Former Ohio State star Jaxon Smith-Njigba left the Super Bowl in the third quarter on Sunday, Feb. 8, as he’s being evaluated for a concussion. He is questionable to return, the Seattle Seahawks announced.
The NFL Offensive Player of the Year this season went into the medical tent before exiting the field for the locker room. The former first-round pick broke out in his third NFL campaign in 2025-26, catching a league-high 119 passes for an NFL-leading 1,793 yards with 10 touchdowns during the regular season.
The Buckeyes star left the game with Seattle leading New England 12-0 in at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Smith-Njigba left the Super Bowl for the Seahawks on Feb. 8 as he was being evaluated for a potential concussion, the team announced. Seattle led 12-0 when he left the game.
Smith-Njigba missed the entirety of Seattle’s ensuing drive and was also not on the field for the Seahawks’ following drive, which started just before the fourth quarter. He was shown on the NBC broadcast entering the medical tent on the sideline before being escorted to the tunnel with a staff member.
Smith-Njigba has yet to return to the sideline.
