The stretch of Interstate 75 that was closed for repairs at the Lockland Split this weekend has reopened ahead of schedule.
The Ohio Department of Transpiration announced just before 6 a.m. on May 31 that the northbound lanes of the highway were reopened. They were closed on May 29 for pavement repairs and were originally scheduled to stay blocked off until June 1.
The resurfacing of the Lockland Split was part of a multimillion-dollar project.
Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation repaired the bridge that travels northbound I-75 over the Mill Creek, a railroad, Benson Street and Shepherd Avenue in Arlington Heights, Reading and Lockland.
The entire project, which included this resurfacing, is scheduled to be completed by this fall.
John R. Jurgensen Co. was awarded a contract for approximately $12.6 million to complete the project, according to the Department of Transportation.
