High School Roundup: Balanced scoring lifts Millersport past FCA

The Lakers pulled out a thrilling 69-61 Mid-State League-Cardinal Division win over the Knights.

Gracie O’Neal led a balanced attack with 19 points. Lilly Atkinson scored 18, Ava Blevins added 12, and Jenna Schilling chipped in nine points.

Zarah Roby led the Knights with 26 points, while Nakayla Cash and Abby Heisner added 15 points each.

Wellington 36, Berne Union 29: Ilahna Speelman scored 23 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and had four blocks, but it wasn’t enough as the Rockets suffered their first loss of the season to slip to 5-1 overall.

Groveport 46, Lancaster 42: The Lady Gales fell short in their Ohio Capital Conference-Buckeye Division loss against the Cruisers. Harper Allen led the way with 10 points, Carlee Arledge had nine and Koewynn added eight points.

Fisher Catholic 58, Miller 10: The Irish improved to 4-0 in the Mid-State League-Cardinal Division and 5-1 overall after cruising past the Falcons. Sydney Snoke led the way with 21 points. Hadli Gillum added 15 points, 10 assists and five blocks, and Layni Gillum chipped in six points.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Bloom-Carroll 63, Grove City Christian 53: The Bulldogs (2-2) pulled out a nonconference win over the Eagles. Maddux Byler led the way with 18 points, Lucas Hogue added 14 and Caiden Schooley chipped in eight points.

Logan Elm 38, Fairfield Union 35: The Falcons fell just short in their MSL-Buckeye Division loss to the Braves. Asa Kline led the Falcons with 10 points and Mason Ailes added eight.
