SOCCER
Bloom-Carroll 4, Johnstown 0: Emily Smith scored two goals to lead the way for the Bulldogs in their nonconference win over the Johnnies. Lilly Friestat and Mya Storts added one goal each. Lauryn Pinkerton had four saves in goal.
The Bulldogs defeated Logan Elm, 17-0, in Mid-State League-Buckeye Division play. Mackenzie Haslett and Reese Norris led the way with three goals each.
Lancaster 2, Amanda-Clearcreek 0: Molly Stedman had a goal and assisted Claire Coy to help lead the Lady Gales to a nonconference win over the Aces. Grace Hampson had two saves in goal. Kaylie Wilson had seven saves for A-C.
VOLLEYBALL
Bloom-Carroll 3, Heath 0: The Bulldogs defeated Heath 25-15, 25-20, 25-8 in nonconference action. Sylvia Haughn finished with 17 kills and three aces, Renee Smith had 32 assists, Sienna Hogue finished with 15 digs and three aces, and Josie Burr had six kills and three blocks.
B-C opened MSL-Buckeye Division play with a 25-14, 25-7, 25-12 win over Amanda-Clearcreek. Haughn finished with 17 kills and four aces, Kylee Reiser had seven kills, Smith finished with 32 assists, and Kylynne Solberger had 12 digs.
GOLF
Lancaster: The Gales went to Chapel Hill GC to compete in the St Francis DeSales Invitational on Saturday. Lancaster shot 334, which was good for 18th out of 24 teams. Dublin Jerome won a tie-break for the win, shooting a 295. The Gales were led by Gabe Betts, who shot an 80. Bryson Branham shot 82, Jacob Miller 83, Andrew Carpico 89, and Jackson Cluse 102
The Gales went to Little Turtle CC to take on Gahanna. The Gales fell, shooting a 355 to 337. Leading the Gales was Bryson Branham, who shot an 84. Ben Richardson and Gabe Betts both shot 89s. Jackson Cluse shot a 93, Jacob Miller 94, and Andrew Carpico 95.
The Gales were on fire at the OCC Shootout, which was held at Eagle Sticks GC, shooting a season low 305. Pickerington North won the event, shooting a 291. The Gales finished in a tie for 7th out of 15 teams. Bryson Branham shot a career low, even par 70, to pace the Gales. Gabe Betts also shot a career low and finished with a 1-over-par 71. Jacob Miller shot 81, Ben Richardson 83, and Andrew Carpico 90.
Amanda-Clearcreek: The Aces finished second in a quad match against Circleville, Logan Elm, and Eastern Brown at Pickaway Golf Course. The Aces placed second with 179.
The Aces had a dual match against Fisher Catholic and won. They were led by Caiden Riddle, who was the medalist with 39.
A-C placed third at the MSL match 2 at Turnberry. Caiden Riddle was the match medalist with 76. Other scores were AJ Moyer 83, Ashden Vanscoy 89, Breece Stone 90, and Cole West 117.
Fairfield Union: The Lady Falcons travelled to Pine Hill Golf Course for a dual match against Bloom Carroll. The Lady Falcons were victorious with a score of 201-215. Laci Eads and Xaley Bojanowski led the Falcons with 47, Kendall Mason 49, Bailey Troxel 58, Ryanne Westenbarger 60, and Brynn Mason 66.
The Falcon varsity boys travelled to Hocking Hills Golf Course and competed in the 18-hole Logan Quad Invitational. The team fired a season-low of 317 and finished in 3rd place against some tough opponents. Ian McDaniel shot 75, Bryce Lepi 77, Caden Featheroff 79, Eli Wolfe 86, and Willy Bitler 92.
The Falcons placed second in the MSL Match 2 tournament with a 333.
CROSS COUNTRY
Liberty Union: The Lions competed at the Canal Winchester Invitational on Aug. 26. The girls team placed sixth and was led by Rachel Sponseller (21st, 21:21). She was followed by Caroline Endsley (38th, 22:17), Elizabeth Conn (42nd, 22:29), Taylor Jones (49th, 22:58), Emily Shultz (61st, 23:53), Lily Endsley (66th, 24:38), and Kathleen Slaby (84th, 26:08). The boys team placed tenth and was led by William McCreery (21st, 17:18). He was followed by Charlie Sponseller (56th, 19:25), Micah Fisher (82nd, 20:26), Hunter Maddux (83rd, 20:28), Silas Kohler (90th, 20:57), and Levi Hendershot (105th, 21:56).
