Linden and Underwood closures set
ZANESVILLE − Linden Avenue will be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. May 4-22, for bridge work related to the I-70 reconstruction project.
Additionally, lane closures on Underwood Street will be in place beginning at 9 a.m. May 12, for bridge work. The roadway is expected to reopen the morning of May 13.
County road closures
ZANESVILLE − The Muskingum County Engineer’s Office has announced Goosecreek Road will be closed for 21 days starting May 6, from Cannelville Road to Elmville Road for a bridge replacement.
Green Road will be closed for two days starting May 4, for bridge repairs from McGlade School Road to New Riley Road.
Wion Ridge Road will be closed 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. through May 4 for culvert replacements.
Youth art class on May 6
ZANESVILLE − The Muskingum County Arts Council will hold an art class for youth in second to fourth grades at 5:30 p.m. May 6, at Julie’s ARTery, 53 S. Seventh St. Students can create an underwater scene using the watercolor resist technique. Register at zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/watercolor-at-julies-artery.
Summer scholarship applications open
ZANESVILLE − The Muskingum County Community Foundation is accepting summer scholarship cycle applications. Funding is for students in the fields of education, nursing, visual and fine arts, social work, math education, law enforcement and other academic and workforce pathways. Opportunities are available for traditional and non-traditional students. Each scholarship has its own eligibility requirements. For more information, visit mccf.org/apply.
City continues hydrant flushing
ZANESVILLE − The City of Zanesville has announced fire hydrant flushing for May 4 to 8. Areas include Taylor Street, Harding Road, Dresden Road, West and East Highland, Hilltop Road, Maple Tree Plaza, Walmart, Forest Avenue, Adams Lane, Newark Road, Zane State and Ohio University Zanesville, Zanesville High School and Middle School, Blue Avenue, Wilmer Street, Somers Street, Old Farm Court, Wabash Avenue and all related side streets. Flushing will be from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily with residents to refrain from doing laundry until after 4 p.m. Residents may experience discolored water and reduced pressure.

● Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary lunch meeting at noon May 4, at the Salvation Army, 515 Putnam Ave. Final plans will be announced for the May 14 brunch.
● Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center Board will meet at 7 p.m. May 11, at the board office, 205 N. Seventh St.
● Mental Health and Recovery Services Board will meet at 6 p.m. May 14, at the board office, 1500 Coal Run Road. The finance and audit committee and program committee will meet prior at 5 p.m.
