The highest earners in Hamilton County government are deputy coroners, according to the county payroll obtained by The Enquirer via a public records request.

Deputy coroners have medical degrees and have higher salaries than the coroner, whose salary is set by the state.

LaNora Godfrey, president and chief executive officer of Hamilton County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board is the highest earner in the county outside of the coroner’s office. She is followed by County Administrator Jeff Aluotto and Phil Beck, who manages projects that are part of The Banks.

The salary for the Hamilton County commissioners in 2025 is $115,431. State law sets the salaries for county commissioners based on the county’s population.

Here are the top 20 salaries in the county.
