CANTON – The upcoming brewery and beer hall from Canton-based Hilscher-Clarke Electric Co. is undergoing a last-minute name change.
It was set to open as Grounded Beer Hall at the former Canton Brewing Co. location downtown, but the team discovered the name was already taken.
The brewery — led by head brewer Jake Turner, formerly of Maize Valley Winery & Brewery, and Leslie Wile, former general manager at Fat Head’s Brewery Canton — will now open as Unfused Brew Hall.
“We’re still projecting a November opening,” said Wile. “We’re currently seeking a kitchen manager to join our growing team. It was an unexpected pivot, but we’re the same team with the same vision. We’re amped up to show off soon.”
The Brew Kettle had bought the building in 2023 after Canton Brewing closed and had grand plans. But The Brew Kettle later scrapped the project and sold the property on Feb. 24 to Bold Brewing Real Estate, a subsidiary of Hilscher-Clarke.
