Former Reds pitcher Brent Suder traded from Angels to Braves

Brent Suter, a former Reds pitcher and 2008 Moeller High School graduate, is joining a new team for the second time in two seasons.

A reliever who signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Angels in January, Suder is getting traded to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for infielder Nacho Alvarez Jr., ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports. In 2026, Suter recorded a 4.12 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP with 55 strikeouts and 17 walks. He was 1-2 in three starts while appearing in 41 total games.

Suder played for the Reds in 2024 and 2025, recording a 4.52 ERA in 67.2 innings pitched last season. Cincinnati declined his 2026 option last November, making him a free agent.
