Former Cleveland Browns QB Bernie Kosar back in hospital for procedure

Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar posted on social media that he is back in the hospital for a medical procedure.

“Going a little to hard. Found my way back into the hospital,” Kosar said on social media. “Lets get this procedure over with and have a winning day. See you next week. UMatter.”

Kosar did not provide further details on the procedure.

In November Kosar underwent liver transplant surgery. In early December 2025, Kosar was hospitalized with E. coli blood poisoning. In January 2026, he said his body experienced a “small rejection” of the liver, sending him back to the hospital.

The 62-year-old Kosar at the groundbreaking for the new Browns stadium in Brook Park on April 30.
