The Cleveland Browns pulled off a blockbuster trade on Monday that sent one of the best pass rushers in the NFL, Myles Garrett, to the LA Rams in exchange for three draft picks and former first-round pick Jared Verse. Two days later, Verse was on the practice field for OTA practice on Wednesday, with the session open to the media, and we got our first look at him in a Browns uniform.
Verse is a good young player who makes plays in the run game just as much as he does in the pass rush. Unfortunately, a lot of people will compare him directly to Myles Garrett because of the trade, and that’s just not fair because Garrett is a generational player at his position.
In his first two years in the NFL, Verse has been named to the Pro Bowl both years and was the Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2024, meaning Cleveland now has the last two to win that award on the same team, with Carson Schwesinger winning this year.
