Financial tech company to double employment in Columbus

A financial services company is expected to double its workforce in the city thanks the latest round of state tax credits.

The Ohio Tax Credit Authority announced $239 million in state investment July 27 across five projects, promising to generate $93 million in payroll. That includes $6 million in generated payroll for FIS Management Services, LLC, in central Ohio.

The banking and payment technology company, located on Columbus’ southwest side, currently employs around 112 people and plans to add 100 more by 2030.

The expansion announcement comes at a banking industry boom for Columbus, as reported by Columbus Business First. Columbus is already a regional headquarters for America’s largest bank, JPMorgan Chase, and headquarters for Huntington Bank, among other multistate banks and smaller startups.

“Columbus is a natural home for this investment. Through our acquisition of FIS Total Issuing Solutions, we already have a strong team and presence there,” the company said in an emailed statement to The Dispatch. “This expansion builds on that foundation and reflects our commitment to the capabilities that serve our clients over the long term.”

FIS Management Services is a subsidiary of Fidelity Information Services, a global financial tech company.
