FC Cincinnati has signed 2024 MLS SuperDraft pick Kenji Mboma Dem to a contract through 2025 with options for the following two seasons, the club announced Saturday, July 5.
The 23-year-old forward will take up a Supplemental Roster and International Roster Spot.
Since joining the club out of the University of Dayton, Mboma Dem has primarily played for FC Cincinnati 2 in MLS NEXT Pro, but he has also appeared for the first team twice. He debuted with the top group on February 26 during the Concacaf Champions Cup against FC Montagua.
“We’re proud to sign Kenji to the first team,” said general manager Chris Albright. “Since being drafted in 2024, Kenji has established himself as a key piece for FC Cincinnati 2.
“He’s earned this opportunity through his consistency in training, hunger to improve, and performances on the field. We’re excited to see FC Cincinnati 2 continue to play a vital role in the FC Cincinnati player pathway as we look to develop and promote talent within the club.”
For FC Cincinnati 2, Mboma Dem has scored 10 goals and logged seven assists in 26 appearances across two seasons. The Mantes-la-Jolie, France native’s 12 goal contributions in 2024 led the team.
FC Cincinnati returns to action Saturday night to face Chicago Fire FC at TQL Stadium.
