The FBI is mum on details surrounding why their agents were at The Mansfield Hotel at 500 N. Trimble Road early Wednesday morning.

“I can confirm the FBI was conducting a court-authorized law enforcement activity in the area of Trimble Road, Mansfield earlier today (Wednesday), and there is no threat to public safety. As in any given matter, if charges are filed, they will eventually become a matter of public record,” Public Affairs Officer Susan Licate of the FBI’s Cleveland office said.
Mansfield police records office had no reports on file.
Mansfield Police Chief Jason Bammann referred media inquiries to the FBI public affairs officer.
No one could be reached at the hotel Wednesday for comment.
