Ex-Summit Co. Fair board member guilty of theft from 4-H, horse camp

A 61-year-old former Summit County Fair board member pleaded guilty to stealing over $24,000 from the fair’s 4-H Club and horse camp between 2017 and 2024.

Angela Hawsman of Cuyahoga Falls pleaded guilty on April 22 to one count of grand theft, a fourth-degree felony, Summit County Common Pleas Court documents show.

Hawsman was previously listed as the 2025 area at-large member of the fair board, but her name has since been removed from the list, according to the fair board website. Her husband, Mike Hawsman, is the board vice president.

Represented by attorney Paul Siegferth Jr., Hawsman’s guilty plea vacates her May 19 trial.

Judge Jennifer Towell will sentence Hawsman at 9 a.m. May 29.
