Eugenio Suárez scratched from Cincinnati Reds lineup vs. Tigers

The Cincinnati Reds will be without Eugenio Suárez for the series opener against the Detroit Tigers on Friday, April 24.

Suárez was originally slated to DH for the Reds against Detroit left-hander Framber Valdez. He was scratched from the lineup with mid-back pain, according to Reds communications.

Suárez, who began his MLB career with Detroit in 2014, is hitting .231 this season with three homers and 11 RBIs.

Nathaniel Lowe will replace Suárez in the lineup. Lowe is 9-for-30 lifetime against Valdez with four extra-base hits and four RBIs.
