The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad has a new face for the organization.
And it is a bit sneaky looking.
The scenic railroad that snakes its way through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park has adopted a new mascot.
Trax, a raccoon mascot, has been named the organization’s Chief of Railroad Fun and will make appearances on some train excursions, festivals and events in Greater Akron.
Spokesperson Lynee Bixler said the railroad has been working for more than a year coming up with the idea for a mascot that reflects the nature of the national park, along with the railroad’s mission to provide a fun rail experience for riders of all ages.
“Trax represents the spirit of adventure, discovery, and fun that makes CVSR such a special experience,” CVSR President/CEO Larry Stevenson said. “We wanted to create a character that families could connect with and that would help us engage with our community in new and exciting ways.
“Trax brings energy, personality, and a sense of playfulness that fits perfectly with our mission of creating memorable experiences for our passengers and visitors.”
The scenic railroad traverses some 26 miles through the national park between Cleveland and Akron.
