Columbus Academy’s Gabe Davis-Ray is the fans’ choice for the top high school football senior in central Ohio.
Davis-Ray, a 6-foot-3, 193-pound three-star safety who has committed to Northwestern, finished first in a poll that accompanied The Dispatch’s look at the top 25 seniors in the Columbus area entering the 2025 season.
Davis-Ray was second-team all-state and first-team all-district in Division V last season, helping the Vikings win their first nine games and finish 10-2. He had 75 tackles (40 solo, 5 for loss), one interception and one pass breakup along with 1,208 all-purpose yards and 13 total touchdowns.
The poll was a two-way race between Davis-Ray and Hartley running back Robert Lathon. Davis-Ray received 16,607 of 38,120 votes (43.6%) to 16,076 (42.2%) for Lathon.
