Coaches association honors Perry girls wrestling coach Steve Ramos

The National Wrestling Coaches Association has named Perry High School girls head coach Steve Ramos the 2026 USMC “Battles Won” Section 2 Head Coach of the Year.

With just three qualifiers, Ramos led the Panthers to their first OHSAA team state championship and was voted Stark County Coach of the Year in his first season. Perry’s Mia Forberg, Emma Shephard and Carolyn Geckler all won state titles.
