Circleville man killed in 2-vehicle crash in Fairfield County

LANCASTER – A Circleville man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Ohio 188 and Royalton Road in Hocking Township, Fairfield County.

The Lancaster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the crash at approximately 4:13 p.m. July 21.

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2019 Ford Ranger, driven by Stephanie Biggum, 40, of Circleville, was traveling southwest on Ohio 188. A 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage, driven by Jacob Bush, 29, of Circleville, was traveling southeast on Royalton Road. The Mitsubishi failed to yield the right-of-way while attempting to turn left onto Ohio 188 and was struck by the Ford. After impact, the Ford traveled off the north side of 188 and the Mitsubishi traveled off the south side of 188, according to the news release.

Bush was pronounced deceased at the scene. Biggum was transported to Mount Carmel East for minor injuries. The front seat passenger of the Mitsubishi, Christopher Jordan, 26, of Lockbourne, was also transported to Mount Carmel East for minor injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, Hocking Township Fire Department, Berne Township Fire Department, Amanda Township Fire Department, Lancaster Fire Department, Fairfield County Coroner’s Office, and Scioto Valley Wrecker Service.
