Developer Portman Holdings and Cincinnati Center City Development Corp., also known as 3CDC, will hold an official groundbreaking event on Tuesday, July 21st. The event will take place at 10 a.m. inside the First Financial Center on the second floor overlooking the project site. (It was moved inside due to forecasted storms.)

The 700-room Marriott is part of an $828 million Convention District revitalization plan that’s meant to bring larger conventions and major events to downtown Cincinnati. The hotel, supported by approximately $248 million in public funding, will feature 60,000 square feet of meeting space, a 17,000-square-foot events terrace and ground-floor retail.

Construction is expected to wrap up by mid-2028.
