Greater Cincinnati maintained eight companies on the Fortune 500 in the business magazine’s latest listing of America’s largest companies based on revenue.
GE Aerospace, which official became a local company in the spring of 2024 after the General Electric split up, nearly cracked the magazine’s top 100. Healthy growth at two other local companies also moved them higher in the rankings.
The rankings, based on 2025 financial results, don’t reflect 2026 acquisitions made or being made by Fifth Third Bank or Cintas. The regional bank’s takeover of Comerica, which closed in February, and the Mason-based uniform-maker”s pending buyout of a Massachusetts rival, will help both grow and move higher on next year’s listing.
The local region’s heavy corporate presence has long been considered an economic asset, providing Cincinnati and its suburbs with tens of thousands of high-paying jobs and attracting strong entrepreneurial talent.
