CBS sports analyst says Bengals playoff chances are done after 'embarrassing' loss to Jets

Cincinnati Bengals fans aren’t the only ones with strong reactions after the Bengals’ upset loss to the 0-7 New York Jets.

CBS Sports analyst Pete Prisco gave a scathing take on the Bengals during “NFL on CBS.”

The senior NFL columnist for CBS Sports, who has three decades of experience covering the NFL, called the Bengals’ performance “an embarrassment” and said they aren’t going to make the playoffs.

Prisco chose the Bengals and their defense as his pick for NFL Week 8 losers after their 39-38 home loss on Oct. 26.

“What we hear leading up to this week, ‘Oh, look Joe Flacco revitalized the Bengals, the schedule’s soft, the Bengals are going to get back into it’,” Prisco said.

“They allowed the New York Jets to have 510 yards of offense, 254 rushing yards. They got trampled,” he continued.

“It was an embarrassment,” he said, “and, you know what, the Bengals aren’t going to get back into the playoff race. They’re done.”

After the loss, Cincinnati dropped to 3-5 as its attempt to move back to .500 fell short, while the Jets improved to 1-7.

The Bengals remain in second place in the AFC North, trailing the Pittsburgh Steelers, who fell to 4-3 after a loss to the Green Bay Packers during Week 8.
