Carlos Jorge, Reds prospect, stays hot for Double-A Chattanooga

Cincinnati Reds prospect Carlos Jorge hit his sixth home run of the season for the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts and stole his 16th base while raising his batting average to .341 and OPS to .935 in a game June 2 against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.

Jorge was named Southern League Player of the Week May 26-31, as he batted .455 with nine runs, four stolen bases and a 1.129 OPS.

The 22-year-old Jorge ranks No. 16 among MLB Pipeline’s top Reds prospects.

Jorge was playing center field during the High-A Dayton Dragons’ series finale against the Fort Wayne TinCaps in April 2025 when he crashed into the wall while making a remarkable, over-the-shoulder catch in the top of the 6th inning to rob Addison Kopack of extra bases. Jorge was carted off the field.

The Reds signed Jorge out of the Dominican Republic for $495,000, at the start of the delayed 2020-21 international signing period in January 2021.
