Day three of the Cleveland Browns training camp was yet another competitive day between the white lines for everyone on the team, including the quarterbacks.
The first two days of camp were rough for both quarterbacks, specifically Deshaun Watson, who, by all accounts, had a dreadful first day operating that offense with the first group. On day two, it was Shedeur Sanders who was running with the ones, and he struggled in different ways.
Operationally, the first group took a step back, having nine procedural penalties throughout the course of practice.
Day three, however, looked like the offense turned a little bit of a corner. There were some big-time plays made by Sanders, specifically with rookie wide receiver Denzel Boston, who keeps showing that he might have the tools to be a really strong wide receiver in the league.
Behind Watson and Sanders is Dillon Gabriel, who continues to operate with the third string and is doing a really nice job. His main target has been Cedric Tillman, who is fighting for his life on the third string, and those two are making it happen in that third group.
Day three was the first day of camp with fans in the stands, and the Browns saved up their highlight plays for the day. Here were some that stood out.

Most camps take this exact path. It is much easier for the defense to find success early because for them to have a good play, one guy has to make it. For the offense to have success, all 11 on the field need to execute to the highest level.
It’s hard to do that early on, especially with so many young players on the field being added to the roster. It takes a little bit of time, but from the looks of it, day three was a very clear step in the right direction for the offense.
Camp is a very long process, and it is important to continue stacking good days on top of each other. While it is long, it happens quickly. Improvements need to happen by the day, and from the looks of it, it appears that they are.
