The Pop-Up Pantry from the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank will make its file summer stop in Alliance when it arrives at 11 a.m. Aug. 26.
The first two stops in June and July were a big hit, with more than 170 people stopping by each month to get food. Food will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The pantry again will be parked at Glamorgan Castle, but Alliance City Schools officials, teachers and students won’t be the only ones handing out food because school is back in session. A few Alliance Community Pantry volunteers also will be helping out.
The summer program is intended to help families with school-age children who would be missing their school lunches during the summer months.
But, as usual, anyone is welcome to line up to get food assistance.
