Browns make multiple roster moves before 2026 NFL OTA period

With the 2026 NFL OTA period kicking off this week, the Cleveland Browns and general manager Andrew Berry continue to make moves to improve the roster ahead of the 2026 NFL season.

After a successful rookie training camp period following the conclusion of the 2026 NFL Draft, the Browns were able to make some decisions on some of the newcomers, with multiple players signing and being waived from the organization on Tuesday.

According to Browns’ beat writer Daniel Oyefusi, the organization has made multiple moves ahead of the first day of OTAs, including the signing of two undrafted free agents in wide receiver Aaron Anderson and  linebacker Reid Carrico, along with veteran defensive end Markees Watts.

Browns’ latest roster moves

Despite the Browns’ OTA period beginning on Tuesday, newly-hired head coach Todd Monken already got his first glimpse at some of the team’s most recent additions during the recent rookie training camp period. One name that stuck out during that time was former LSU wideout Aaron Anderson, who signed with Cleveland as an undrafted free agent. Anderson possesses a skillset that perfectly fits Monken’s offensive game plan, as he demonstrated his ability to create yards after the catch throughout his time with the Tigers and the rookie training camp period.

On the defensive side of the ball, former West Virginia linebacker and Ohio native Reid Carrico also landed a deal with the Browns before OTAs. After spending three seasons with the Ohio State Buckeyes, Carrico quickly blossomed into a key contributor for the Mountaineers’ defense, finishing with 69 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and one pass deflection in 2025. Now, he’ll have a chance to suit up for Cleveland and attempt to carve out a role this offseason.

In addition to signing three players, the Browns also waived two undrafted free agents in defensive tackle Bernard Gooden and tight end Caden Prieskorn, along with veteran wideout Isaiah Wooden. With the emergance of Anderson this offseason, it was clear that Wooden would be on the bubble for a roster spot heading into next season. And due to general manager Andrew Berry selecting two tight ends in Joe Royer and Casen Ryan during the 2026 NFL Draft, Prieskorn was also on the bubble this offseason.
