Cincinnati Reds Hall of Famer Brandon Phillips’ wife, WWE wrestler Jade Cargill, responded to a tweet asking whether any former Reds players still call Cincinnati home by tweeting that the couple does.
“My husband @DatDudeBP and I still have a house here we visit often,” Cargill tweeted. “He loves it here.”
In addition to his Reds Hall of Fame induction over the weekend, Phillips signed a one-day contract to officially retire as a member of the Cincinnati Reds.
Ahead of the induction, the former second baseman, three-time All-Star and four-time Gold Glove winner shared his thoughts about Cincinnati via Twitter/X.
“My career included stops in other cities and I loved my time with those clubs,” Phillips tweeted. “But for me, y’all know DAMN well Cincinnati is my HOME. I love the city, my teammates, especially the FANS. I can finally say, I’m a RED4LIFE!”
Phillips hit .279 with 191 home runs, 851 RBIs, 1,774 hits, 311 doubles, 32 triples and 194 stolen bases in his 11 seasons with the Reds from 2006-17.
