The Cincinnati Bengals report to training camp soon and start the grueling schedule before the regular season.
Along the way, the Bengals will tackle preseason games and eventually whittle the roster down to 53 players. During that time, the Bengals might even make a trade or add an outside free agent, too.
There are big names on offense for the Bengals, of course. That makes digging for sleepers at each spot on the unit tough, but let’s give it a shot.
Bengals sleeper players in training camp
QB Sean Clifford
Hard to be a sleeper at all on a depth chart with Joe Burrow and Joe Flacco. Josh Johnson, the third quarterback, is 40 and has played for about a zillion teams (14). But Sean Clifford isn’t a slouch as a former fifth-round pick who threw for 86 scores in 46 starts in college at Penn State. He wouldn’t be the pick by this offensive-minded staff for no reason.
RB Kendall Milton
Milton has been with the Bengals since 2024 after rumbling for 23 scores and 1,839 yards on a 6.2 average at Georgia, so he’s got past production and years in the system going for him. Tahj Brooks, a sixth-rounder in 2025, might be ahead of him and behind the starting duo of Chase Brown and Samaje Perine, but he’s got the talent to fend off the rest and get close to Brooks.
WR Jordan Moore
Tough sell to get looks at wideout in Cincinnati. Keep in mind they drafted Colbie Young and Mitch Tinsley was looking like Marvin Jones of old out there last season. Still, Jordan Moore went undrafted in 2025 out of Duke and stuck around, even turning heads in early OTAs work. Now that he’s had a year to develop and in the system, there’s a chance he can push for the sixth spot.
TE Jack Endries
Erick All is back to help the Bengals alongside Mike Gesicki and Drew Sample. That makes it tough for the fourth spot and beyond. Seventh-round rookie Jack Endries, at least, averaged more than 11 yards per catch in college and has time to develop as a blocker.
OT Christian Jones
The Bengals paid a big signing bonus to undrafted free agent Christian Jones for a reason. He’s a massive 6’9, 349-pound prospect worth developing. They have Cody Ford as a capable swing-tackle backup. But depth on the edges is quietly a pretty big concern, so Jones has a chance to latch on if he can get acclimated.
IOL Jalen Rivers
By now, all Bengals fans know about interior draft picks Brian Parker and Connor Lew. It’s causing Jalen Rivers to go a little overlooked. A fifth-round pick by the Bengals in 2025, Rivers entered the league as highly regarded as a run-blocker with big upside and it took until mid-August before he was getting second-team reps. Rivers isn’t going to steal a starting job, but he’s not going anywhere, either.
